To burnish
floors we use a high speed 2200RPM-2800RPM buffer and special pad.
The burnisher can be a powerful propane unit or a quiet
electric unit.
Burnishing Floor After Finisher Application
After
finishing the floor (more than four coats of wax), it may
be burnished. Burnishing the floor after finishing creates a scratch
resistant top layer of finish and additional gloss.
Burnishing
the floor between major stripping-sealing-waxing periods.
A more
aggressive pad must be used. This burnishing process will remove the
top coat of existing finish. Burnishing the floor will remove
black marks, scratches, attached dirt, and help restore
gloss. After light scrubbing with UHS, two finishing coats
must be applied.
